  • Ensuring that processes needed for the SMS are established, implemented and maintained;
  • Collecting and analyzing safety information;
  • Monitoring and evaluating the results of corrective actions;
  • Closely liaise with Aviation Authorities to fulfil all AOC regulatory requirements;
  • Ensuring that risk assessments are properly conducted when applicable and necessary actions are implemented in an effective manner;
  • Determining the adequacy of SMS training and ensure that training is provided across the company in accordance to the manual;
  • Promote safety throughout the organization by ensuring safety-related information, including organizational goals and objectives, are made available to all personnel through established communication processes;
  • Ensuring that periodic reviews of the SMS are conducted;
  • Monitoring the industry for safety concerns that could affect the SMS program;
  • Represent the DCSD at safety meetings;
  • Liaise with outside aviation agencies
  • Communicating operational safety concerns to the Nominated Post-holders and other operational managers;
  • Maintain the SMS documentation;
  • Report to the DCSD the performance of the SMS and any need for improvements;
  • Member of the Safety Action Group;


  • At least 8 years relevant aviation experience and 3 years in management in a similar role
  • Should possess operational management experience in the airline industry or at an aviation regulatory agency, or hold a valid ATPL license, or have a technical background that will support an understanding of the aviation technical environment; or
  • He should have a sound understanding of Safety Management Systems and its implementation in an operating environment:
  • Formal training in Safety Management Systems (SMS) is essential: Safety Management Systems (SMS), Aviation Internal Auditor or IOSA Auditor, Aircraft Accident/Incident Investigation and Human Factors in Aviation in a recognized institution;
  • Formal training in Human Factors in Aviation and Fatigue Risk Management is an advantage
  • Practical knowledge and experience with safety databases essential
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English

Candidates with less experience will consider as Manager, Corporate Safety
